Katsuki Araki Sidelined for Season Tuesday, March 28th, 2034 Fukuoka SoftBank starting pitcher Katsuki Araki could miss the remainder of the season because of a stretched elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's ORIX game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Araki would be out 9 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." Presently Araki has a 2-0 mark in 5 starts with a 4.98 ERA. He has given up 25 hits in 21.2 innings, struck out 18 and issued 14 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .284 batting average against him. |
