Epps Shows Off, Hits for Cycle

Toshimitsu Epps punished the Tokyo Yakult Swallows today, leading the Dragons to a 19-7 win. In doing so, Epps hit for the cycle, tagging the Swallows for 4 hits in 6 at-bats.
A player hitting a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game is one of the more unusual feats in professional baseball and typically happens only a couple times per season.
"Well, I didn't expect that to happen," the Chunichi third baseman said after the game. "I got some great pitches and I hit their mistakes."
Epps also had 5 runs batted in and 4 runs scored in the game at Ballpark of Nakashibetsu College.
Toshimitsu Epps hit a two-run home run off Kikuji Nakamura in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 7th.
