Tamura Named Top CL Hurler Friday, April 1st, 2033 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Mitsunobu Tamura, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Tokyo Yakult Swallows reliever, 19, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .250 average and walked away with the Central League Pitcher of the Month award for March. Tamura posted a 3-0 mark and a 3.09 ERA in 4 relief appearances. In 11.2 innings, he had no saves, 11 strikeouts, and 11 walks. This season Tamura has chalked up a 8.49 ERA while ringing up no saves with 4 wins and 2 losses.
