Epps Blisters Hiroshima Toyo Thursday, March 17th, 2033 Even as a kid, Toshimitsu Epps said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Frogs Ballpark today, Epps showed how well he learned that lesson. The 20-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Chunichi Dragons, helping his team knock off the Hiroshima Toyo Carp by a score of 12-7. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Toshimitsu Epps singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Yoshikazu Fukuda in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
