Buffaloes Chill Tanaka's Hot Streak
Monday, April 26th, 2032
It was the best of both worlds for the ORIX Buffaloes today at Field of the Chariots, as they defeated the Saitama Seibu Lions 4-3 and also snapped Kuniaki Tanaka's 21-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old Saitama Seibu right fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Tanaka, we just wanted to win the game," said Buffaloes skipper Steve Richards. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Tanaka frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
This year Tanaka is batting .370 with 37 hits, 11 home runs, 28 RBIs, 18 walks, .471 OBP and has scored 24 runs.
