Miyahira Torches Bay Stars for 5 Hits Monday, April 19th, 2032 Tokyo Yakult catcher Tooru Miyahira had a big day at Cuckoos Stadium today against the Yokohama Bay Stars. The 18-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Swallows to a 13-11 triumph over Yokohama. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Miyahira said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Tooru Miyahira hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Bryan Pearson in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
