Jesso Goes Downtown 3 Times Against Royales
Wednesday, June 28th, 2034
Randy Jesso of the Saints went on a hitting spree at Blue Wings Ballpark today and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a 14-13 loss to the Montreal Royales.
"I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Jesso said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too."
The Trois-Rivieres shortstop did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scoring 3 runs.
Randy Jesso hit a two-run home run off Bill Cross in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Bill Cross in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Johnny Rollin in the 5th and walked in the 8th.
In 42 games this season Jesso has compiled a .221 batting average with 33 hits and 6 home runs. He has also scored 19 times and knocked in 19 runs.
