Roberts Booms 3 out of the Park Thursday, May 4th, 2034 Anthony Roberts was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 11-3 South Illinois Salukis triumph at Forney College Grounds today. The 21-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Salukis past the Iowa State Cyclones. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Roberts told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The right fielder went 3-for-4, rung up 8 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Anthony Roberts hit a solo-shot off Rafael Velasco in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Rafael Velasco in the 4th, walked in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jason Allen in the 8th. Thus far this season in 39 games Roberts is batting .317 with 12 home runs, 37 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 44 hits in 139 at-bats. |
