Mayfield SBL Winner, Top Hurler in April Monday, May 1st, 2034 The pick for the Skip Bertman League's best pitcher in April is relief specialist, Chris Mayfield. The Kansas pitcher compiled a great month to take home the award. "I just go out there and try and get the job done," Mayfield told the press. "Things worked out real well last month and I appreciate the recognition." The 21-year-old reliever threw 15 innings in 14 relief appearances as he piled up 7 saves, 25 strikeouts, and notched a 5-0 record and 0.00 ERA for the month. For the year Mayfield has 10 saves. In 18 relief appearances he has hurled 19.2 innings, fanned 33 and issued 11 walks with a 5-0 record. The Kansas reliever has recorded a 0.00 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .118 when he is on the hill. |
