Fugate Selected RDL's Top Player
Wednesday, June 1st, 2033
He may have less experience than most of his USA NCAA DIVISION I peers, but that didn't slow Dallas Fugate down at all in 2033.
At the age of 20, the South Mississippi first baseman has been named the winner of the Rod Dedeaux League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .337 batting average and a .456 on-base percentage this year. In 46 games he piled up 60 hits, 10 doubles, no triples, 24 home runs, 55 RBIs and 53 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
Bubba Pell of the Stanford Cardinals finished second in voting, while Barry Wirfel of the Washington State Cougars finished third.
