What does it take to win the Cy Young Award?

Just ask Bubba Pell of the Stanford Cardinals -- the latest Rod Dedeaux League Cy Young Award winner.

"My dad always told me to dream big and dream always," he said. "It's not like I shoot for the Cy Young Award," he said. "I have big aspirations for what I want to do in this game and what I want to achieve in a long career."

The Cardinals pitching ace made some of his dreams come true this year, winning 4 games and losing only 0. In 9 starts, Pell registered a 0.72 ERA and limited other clubs to a .140 batting average. He fanned 61 in 50.1 innings and issued 16 walks.

Nate Miller of the Washington State Cougars finished second in voting, while Jim Shelby of the Houston Cougars finished third.
