The season is finished for Austin Sherva of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Bulldogs starting pitcher suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Baylor Bears. Team doctors said it would take at least 8-9 months to heal.

Season-to-date Sherva has rung up 1 win and 1 loss in 6 appearances. He has an ERA of 5.19 and has fanned 21 batters in 17.1 innings.
