Worley Belts 3 HR for Cougars Sunday, April 10th, 2033 Washington State Cougars third baseman Nate Worley sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the LSU Tigers, Worley told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Worley pushed the Cougars past the Tigers, 18-11. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Worley told reporters after the game. Nate Worley hit a solo-shot off Perry Maniscalco in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Perry Maniscalco in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Perry Maniscalco in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and walked in the 8th. In this current campaign Worley is hitting at a .256 clip with 4 home runs and 9 RBIs. |
