Hitting Streak Still Alive for Lewis Thursday, April 7th, 2033 The number just keeps getting higher. Virginia catcher Sam Lewis has now extended his hitting string to 25 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 4 at-bats as the Virginia took the 9-2 win over the Oklahoma Sooners at Ballpark of Redwood College. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Oklahoma manager Bennie Edwards said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Sam Lewis grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and walked in the 8th. Lewis is currently batting .519 with 9 home runs and 26 RBIs. |
