Hitting Streak Still Alive for Hawkins Thursday, April 7th, 2033 The number just keeps getting higher. Virginia catcher Brian Hawkins has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 1 hit in 4 at-bats as the Virginia took the 9-2 win over the Oklahoma Sooners at Ballpark of Redwood College. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Oklahoma manager Bennie Edwards said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Brian Hawkins struck out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Kyle Larson in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. Hawkins is currently batting .462 with 9 home runs and 31 RBIs. |
