But despite joining the select list of sluggers to hit three home runs in a game, it didn't guarantee a victory. The Georgia Bulldogs fell to the Demon Deacans, 16-13. In his big day at Field of the Plunder, the Georgia first baseman went 4-for-6 with 5 RBIs and scored 5 times. "It was just one of those days," he told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball. "You would think three homers would win most games. It was good to hit 'em, but a win would have really made my day." Jerry LeGore doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Julio Perez in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Julio Perez in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Zach Laudenbach in the 8th, walked in the 10th and flied out in the 11th.
