Sims Belts Bunch of Base Hits Thursday, March 31st, 2033 The Mississippi State Bulldogs might think twice next time about pitching to Jim Sims. At Crowley College Grounds today, the Tulane Green Wave catcher burned Mississippi State pitching, going 5-for-6 in a 21-6 Tulane triumph. "When he's on his game," Tulane skipper Carlos Garza told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded." Jim Sims singled in the 1st, doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Andy Parsons in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season Sims is hitting .297 with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 11 hits in 37 at-bats and a .435 OBP. View Boxscore View Game Log |
