Hit Streak Now at 20 for Lewis Thursday, March 31st, 2033 Nobody has been able to shut down Virginia Cavaliers catcher Sam Lewis in recent days. The Vanderbilt Commodores fared no better than the rest. Today at Ballpark of Barrow College, Lewis picked up 1 hit in 4 at-bats en route to a 5-4 Cavaliers victory. It stretched his hitting string to 20 consecutive games. Sam Lewis walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, walked in the 7th, struck out in the 8th and flied out in the 10th. So far this season Lewis is hitting .541 with 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 20 hits in 37 at-bats and a .617 OBP. |
