Cougars End Beasley's Streak Tuesday, March 22nd, 2033 It was a doubly miserable day today for Bill Beasley of the Long Beach State 49'ers, as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end and his team lose 6-2 to the Houston Cougars at Suns Ballpark. The 21-year-old catcher was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Cougars. "Anyone on a 22-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Houston manager Cisco Sánchez said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." |
