Matt Holmes Out for 4-5 Months Monday, May 17th, 2032 The South Illinois Salukis will have to make do without Matt Holmes for 4-5 months. He suffered a torn triceps while throwing a pitch in the game today against the Kansas Jayhawks. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the reliever. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." For the season Holmes has made 12 relief appearances, recorded no saves, compiled a 2-0 won-lost mark and a 1.98 ERA. In pitching 13.2 innings, he has totaled 15 strikeouts and 7 walks. |
