Beasley Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Sunday, May 16th, 2032 Bill Beasley, catcher for the Long Beach State 49'ers, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 5 hits in his club's 8-6 victory today over the Texas Longhorns at Ballpark of Macclenny College today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Bill Beasley struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Evan Ford in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Craig Mehlin in the 9th and singled in the 12th. This season in 36 games Beasley is batting .401 with 20 home runs, 51 RBIs and has scored 44 times. |
