Stone 5-for-5 Against Mississippi State Sunday, May 2nd, 2032 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Danny Stone, it came around today. The 19-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Crowley College Grounds to pace the Fresno State Bulldogs to a 6-2 victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Mississippi State skipper Carlton Price told reporters in the press room that "Stone deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Stone hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Danny Stone hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Dusty Frankford in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th.
