5-for-5 Day for Gardner Friday, April 30th, 2032 Horned Frogs center fielder Brett Gardner had his way with UCLA pitching today at Ballpark of Shiprock College and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Bruins ruined his great day by toppling the Horned Frogs, 6-4. "I had a great day, but you've got to give UCLA credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits." "Oh, we noticed what Gardner did today," Bruins skipper Carl Smith said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him." Brett Gardner singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
