Whitsitt Hittin' on All Cylinders Saturday, April 24th, 2032 Keith Whitsitt roughed up Rice Owls pitching in a big way at Toughkenamon College Fields today, leading the Long Beach State to a 13-2 win. With his parents and family watching from the stands, the 19-year-old third baseman put on a magnificent show, hitting for the cycle -- collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game. "It was a good day for that to happen," a beaming Whitsitt said after the game. "I really got some good looks and delivered. Sometimes you're just on." He finished his historic day with 5 hits in 6 at-bats, 5 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Keith Whitsitt hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jimmy Pennington in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
