Miller Tags 3 HR Against Owls Sunday, April 18th, 2032 Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns right fielder Dan Miller slugged three home runs against the Rice Owls at Field of the Dukes, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Owls spoiled his day by defeating the Ragin Cajuns, 9-7. "The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Dan had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," Louisiana-Layfayette manager Gerardo Torres. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Dan, he would have preferred a win." For the game, Miller was 4-for-5 with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Miller said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too." Dan Miller hit a solo-shot off Kyle Longest in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Kyle Longest in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Adam Karpowicz in the 8th and hit an RBI triple in the 9th. To date this season Miller is hitting .462 with 14 home runs. |
