The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the reliever will miss 17 months with a damaged elbow ligament. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Russo suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Longhorns. Russo's record so far this season is 1-and-1 with no saves and a 3.48 ERA. He has given up 10 hits in 10.1 innings with 12 strikeouts. |
