Brooks Bashes 5 Base Hits Thursday, April 15th, 2032 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Matt Brooks today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at South Paris College Grounds and paced the Ragin Cajuns to a 17-7 win over the LSU Tigers. After his dynamite batting performance, the Louisiana-Layfayette left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Matt Brooks hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Grant Blackburn in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
