That's exactly what Sam Lewis did today at Ballpark of Redwood College, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 13-6. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Lewis said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Virginia Cavaliers catcher blistered the South Carolina Gamecocks for 3 hits, batted in 5 runs and scored 4 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," South Carolina manager Orlando Torres said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Sam Lewis hit a solo-shot off Marty Woodruff in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Marty Woodruff in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Riley in the 6th and walked in the 8th. |
