Bankston Grabs LBL Cy Young Award Friday, November 10th, 2034 When the call went out to the San Angelo bullpen in 2034, Garth Bankston proved equal to the task. Whether he was brought in to squelch a rally or just finish the game, Bankston gave his best at each opportunity. As a result, today the Mustangs reliever was named the latest Lyman Bostock League Cy Young Award winner. He made no relief appearances, logging 227.2 innings and no saves this season. He racked up 251 strikeouts, a 17-8 record and an ERA of 2.96. José López of the Chippewa River Chiefs finished second in voting, while Sam Young of the San Angelo Mustangs finished third. |
