Young Pitches San Angelo to Shutout Win
Tuesday, October 24th, 2034
In an outstanding mound performance, San Angelo Mustangs starter Sam Young fired a complete-game shutout against the Atlantic City Kings at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium today.
Young was the key to the Mustangs's 3-0 win. The 22-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 3 hits and 2 walks he allowed.
"3 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."
So far in 26 appearances this season, Young has recorded 14 wins and sustained 4 losses. He has pitched 173.1 innings, yielded 135 hits, fanned 173 and has a 2.70 ERA.
