Injury Sidelines Troy Hampton For Year
Wednesday, October 11th, 2034
Troy Hampton of the Cyclones just might have to call it quits for the season. The 23-year-old Coney Island reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Charleston Panthers recently at Franklin Mountains Field. Hampton suffered a torn labrum while throwing a pitch. The Cyclones medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 5-6 months.
This year Hampton has 3 saves, totaled 78.1 innings, allowed 76 base hits and fashioned a 5.06 ERA while racking up 98 strikeouts and a record of 5 wins and 3 losses.
