Career-Ending Injury for Richard Ortiz Tuesday, October 10th, 2034 There was sad news in the baseball world today when it was announced that the career of St. Petersburg reliever Richard Ortiz was suddenly ended by a torn rotator cuff. He was hurt throwing a pitch during a game against the Brisbane Bush Wackers. The crowd at Baylor Ballpark feared the worst when Ortiz had to be carried off the field in a stretcher to the team training room. Ortiz was taken to the hospital for tests after the game. Team doctors confirmed the diagnosis and said his career was over. So far this year Ortiz has 2 saves in 35 relief appearances with a 4-1 record and 3.67 ERA. |
