Charleston Relief Star Selected Best Pitcher
Friday, September 1st, 2034
Upon hearing the news that he had won the Lyman Bostock League Pitcher of the Month honors for August's work, Charleston reliever Tim Gresham merely smiled.
"That's just the kind of guy he is, and that's what makes him so good out there," his manager told reporters. "The guy has ice water in his veins. Nothing short of a League Championship could get this guy excited and I'm not so sure that'd do it either."
Gresham made 17 relief appearances burning through 21.1 innings as he racked up no saves, 19 strikeouts and held batters to a .141 average as he notched a 8-1 record and a 2.11 ERA.
This year Gresham has earned no saves, worked 85.1 innings, fanned 81 hitters and recorded a 3.90 ERA. He has also put up a 18-3 won-lost mark.
