Loer Tosses Shutout Against Victoria Friday, August 25th, 2034 There was no spell, no black magic -- just good pitching. Jason Loer of the Boise Bloodhounds blanked the Victoria Vikings, 1-0, at Grand Canyon Valley Park today, and he did it the old-fashioned way. After finishing the 4-hit, complete-game shutout, he was all smiles. "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game," Loer said. "I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance." Loer walked 2 and struck out 4 in the victory. "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes," Vikings manager Bernardo Moreno said later.
