Year Ends for Lai-hsiang Zhang in Okanagan
Tuesday, August 8th, 2034
The doctors have spoken and Lai-hsiang Zhang of the Okanagan Lake Monsters didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Zhang sustained his season-ending injury during the Victoria Vikings game yesterday at The drakkar. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Okanagan medical staff reported Zhang had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months.
To date, Zhang has collected 1 save in 18 relief appearances. He has rung up 10 strikeouts and 3 walks in 11 innings while registering a 3.27 ERA and a 0-1 won-lost record.
