Chippewa's López Stands out in Shutout
Saturday, June 3rd, 2034
The Chippewa River Chiefs did little to support starter José López against the Charleston Panthers, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Panthers, striking out 11 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from López allowed Chippewa to escape with the 2-0 win despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said 'José, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," López told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

This season to date López has a record of 7 wins and 1 loss with a 2.10 ERA, has appeared in 11 games and struck out 117 in 85.2 innings.
