New Orleans's Tanabe Chosen LBL Batter of the Month Thursday, June 1st, 2034 When Heishichi Tanabe stepped up to the plate in May he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Lyman Bostock League Batter of the Month award. The young New Orleans shortstop posted a .356 batting average with 6 home runs, 16 RBIs and scored 15 runs. Tanabe also worked pitchers for 11 walks to post a .440 on-base percentage. Looking at his stats this year, Tanabe has compiled a .326 batting average, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 25 runs. He has played in 36 games and scored 23 runs. |
