Player of the Week: Maciel of the Road Warriors Monday, May 1st, 2034 26-year-old Tony Maciel made a few Westside headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Donnie Moore League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 10 hits in 23 at-bats to put up a .435 average. Maciel collected 4 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 11 runs. For the year Maciel is batting .354 with 34 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 21 times and driven in 21. |
