Mata #1 BOL Pitcher in August Thursday, September 1st, 2033 There's something about a young rookie winning the Lyman Bostock League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Oscar Mata, a 21-year-old starter for the San Angelo Mustangs. In August, he topped off the month with a 4-1 mark and 2.15 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 46 innings, fanned 41 and held opposing teams to a .214 average. Over the season Mata has thrown 162 innings and dished out 153 strikeouts with a 15-4 mark and a 1.94 ERA. |
