Mustangs Blank Cyclones, Mata Wins Saturday, August 13th, 2033 Oscar Mata of the San Angelo Mustangs shut out the Coney Island Cyclones 6-0 at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium today, holding them to 4 hits with no walks and 8 strikeouts. Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Coney Island skipper Gerald Pugh called the outing from Mata "a jewel." "The way Mata was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said. To date this season Mata is 13-4 with 17 starts and an ERA of 2.02 with 132 strikeouts in 138 innings.
