Padilla Raps Charleston for 5 Hits
Wednesday, August 10th, 2033
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Jonathan Padilla is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Charleston Panthers at Franklin Mountains Field today. The monster effort from the 21-year-old catcher helped the New Orleans Jedi Knights take the win, 19-14.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Panthers manager Román Cruz. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Jonathan Padilla hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Padilla is currently batting .319 with 7 home runs, 39 RBIs and 44 runs scored. He has 102 hits in 320 at-bats.
