Núñez Sharp, Whitewashes Pelicans Sunday, August 7th, 2033 The St. Petersburg Pelicans struggled at the plate today against Sting hurler Gabriel Núñez, who shackled them on 3 hits while hurling a complete game 5-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Pelicans skipper Kurt Brumfield in his postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Núñez finished the game with 12 strikeouts and 2 walks in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," Houston manager Héctor Flores said. "Gabriel made pitches when he had to.
