Thompson Garners BOL #1 Pitcher Award Monday, August 1st, 2033 Jack Thompson was ecstatic to win July's Lyman Bostock League Pitcher of the Month honors today. The 23-year-old Victoria pitcher thanked fans, his coaches and the voters for the honor -- despite the fact that he deserved much of the credit himself. Thompson's star burned bright last month as he made no relief appearances, notching no saves and 46 strikeouts in 39.2 innings. He held opposing hitters to a .197 average to put up his 4-0 mark and 1.59 ERA. To this point in the season, Thompson has rung up no saves in no relief appearances. He has also crafted a 2.95 ERA, 8 wins and 4 losses and 125 strikeouts in 109.2 innings. |
