Mata Whitewashes Nichols Friday, July 8th, 2033 Oscar Mata of the San Angelo Mustangs put the clamps on the opposition and held the Nichols Gnats scoreless in a 4-hit whitewash. "He's got some good stuff, but we should have done better than that," said Nichols skipper Reese O'Higgins after the 11-0 loss. Mata was on target most of the game and finished with 9 strikeouts and 5 walks. On his stats sheet this season Mata shows a 9-2 record, 11 starts, 89.1 innings, 86 strikeouts and a 1.61 ERA.
