League Suspends Ramos 2 Games Sunday, July 3rd, 2033 Shortly after yesterday's Bums-Saints game ended, Héctor Ramos's on-field tantrum seemed almost comical. In response to being ejected for questioning a called third strike, the Palm Beach center fielder tossed his hat to the dirt and kicked it repeatedly. He couldn't help but laugh at himself and his over-the-top, hat-kicking, anger-laced tirade. "It was funny," Ramos said. "I was hoping I could kick it all the way to the dugout." The umpiring crew, however, didn't find it funny and neither did the league. Though Ramos said he did not think his actions warranted a suspension, he will miss 2 games. This season Ramos has delivered 8 hits in 30 at-bats for a .267 average with no home runs. He is getting on base at a .463 clip and his totals also include 4 RBIs and 5 runs scored. This year Ramos has played in 11 games. |
