AHL Awards Player of the Week Monday, June 13th, 2033 21-year-old Joe Hayes made a few St. Petersburg headlines during this past week as the rookie center fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Donnie Moore League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 8 hits in 11 at-bats to put up a .727 average. Hayes collected 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 2 runs. This year Hayes is batting .318 with 2 home runs. |
