Hayes Rips Stroudsburg for 5 Hits Tuesday, June 7th, 2033 It was a sensational day at the plate for St. Petersburg Pelicans center fielder Joe Hayes, but a tough one for the team, as the Pelicans dropped the contest 10-9 to the Stroudsburg Shade. Even with the loss, Hayes was pure misery for the Stroudsburg pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Hayes, who is the 21-year old center fielder . "Hayes really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Shade manager Juan Rivera told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Joe Hayes singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Marco Molina in the 5th and hit an RBI triple in the 7th.
