Zimmerman and Sanford Suspended for Free-for-All
Tuesday, May 24th, 2033
At a recent Cyclones-Lake Monsters contest at Coney Island Coliseum, Larry Zimmerman of Coney Island took exception to what Eric Sanford of Okanagan said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players.
Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 2 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct."
To date this year Zimmerman is batting .277 with 2 home runs.
So far this season, Sanford has logged a 4-3 record with a 3.48 ERA. He has started 9 games, hurled 54.1 innings and registered 50 strikeouts and 19 walks.
