Bullets End Cruz's Streak Thursday, August 17th, 2034 It was the best of both worlds for the Biloxi Bullets today at The Sand Dune, as they defeated the Pacifica Shamrocks 9-7 and also snapped Daniel Cruz's 23-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old Pacifica left fielder failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Cruz, we just wanted to win the game," said Bullets skipper Manuel Ruíz. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Cruz frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." This year Cruz is batting .347 with 21 home runs. |
