Roy Halladay League Announces July's Top Pitcher Tuesday, August 1st, 2034 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Jay Retter, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Wichita Wolverines reliever, 26, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .152 average and walked away with the Roy Halladay League Pitcher of the Month award for July. Retter posted a 4-0 mark and a 0.97 ERA in no relief appearances. In 37 innings, he had no saves, 49 strikeouts, and 13 walks. This season Retter has made no relief appearances with no saves. In 92.1 innings he has fanned 111 hitters and recorded 9 wins and 3 losses with a 1.75 ERA. |
